DAY THREE
FIVE COMMON LIFE-DRIVERS:
1. Many people are driven by guilt-manipulated by memories; allow their past to control their future
2. Many people are driven by resentment and anger-hold onto hurts without getting over them; don't forgive or forget
3. Many people are driven by fear-afraid to venture out; put themselves in a self-imposed prison
4. Many people are driven by materialism-constantly want more; "desire to acquire"
5. Many people are driven by the need for approval-allow expectations to control their lives
"A PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE - A life guided, controlled, and directed by God's purposes."
"Nothing matters more than knowing God's purposes for your life, and nothing can compensate for not knowing them."
FIVE GREAT BENEFITS OF LIVING A PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE
1. Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life
2. Knowing your purpose simplifies your life
3. Knowing your purpose focuses your life
4. Knowing your purpose motivates your life
5. Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity
"The only thing that will matter is, did you accept what Jesus did for you and did you learn to love and trust Him?"
POINT TO PONDER: Living on purpose is the path to peace.
VERSE TO REMEMBER: "You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you." Isaiah 26:3 (TEV).
QUESTION TO CONSIDER: What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? What do I want it to be? |
